Lenders are foreclosing on a Queens shopping mall developed and owned by his company, Atco Properties and Management, Mr. Hemmerdinger said on Tuesday.

He declined to say how much his company had invested in the property, the Shops at Atlas Park, which has a $128 million mortgage with two French banks, Calyon and Société Générale. He said the two banks were in the process of taking over the property, which is in the Glendale neighborhood.

Representatives for the two banks declined to comment on Tuesday.

Time to Come Back

Congratulations to Sushi Time, the new owners and operators of the old Sushi Oh space. Today was opening day and food and service was excellent. They also run a Sushi Time in Flushing.

Cheap, fresh, and friendly - just like Sushi Oh used to be.

Cord Meyer Rezoning

In an effort to put the genie back in the bottle, Cord Meyer is under consideration for being rezoned. The zone would be changed from an R 1-2 to an R 1-2A which would mandate yards and context.

Fire at Austin/72nd Ave.

From the inbox:

We woke up around 3 this morning to the sound of breaking glass, thesmell of smoke and fire engine lights. There was a fire in theapartment building at 108-02 72nd Ave. at the corner of Austin Street.

We never saw flames but certainly could see smoke. I don't know ifanyone was hurt, but this morning it looks like the tenants in thenorth-west corner units -- at least -- of the six-story building abovethat Networks bar-restaurant don't have a place to live right now.
